While it's obvious that you can quickly lose your money by sending it to someone you don't know when making a purchase, many people don't realize the dangers of selling merchandise and accepting payment from someone they don't know, even if it is "Certified Funds".  Here is how Bank of America treated one of their customers when he was given a bogus certified check as payment for some bicycles he was selling .  The stunning part of this is the poor guy was arrested at the bank just for asking if the check was real.  He spent thousands of dollars fighting the charges and the courts told him "tough luck" on recouping any of his legal expenses.

To help deal with this issue for both buyers and sellers, we have developed a ID Verification Process that makes it extremely difficult for someone to hide behind a false identity and do business on ShootersXchange.com.  A ShootersVerified Certification means we've verified critical information about a person that greatly reduces the likelihood of them being able to hide behind a false identity to pull a internet scam on you or us.

While nothing is totally foolproof, combining the verification of all these different points significantly reduces a criminal's ability to hide behind a bogus ID and steal your money or merchandise through a fraudulent internet purchase or sale.  Verification of phone number, mailing address, computer IP address while matching the certification to a Visa or MasterCard account combines to become a tremendous deterrent to internet fraud, severely restricting the ability of both local and off-shore scams to operate behind bogus IDs.

Easily provide proof of your ShootersVerified Certification to someone by using Email My SV Key Code to email a link to your information to someone you are interested in doing business with.  We highly recommend you ask them to reciprocate.

There are two levels of Proof of Verification you can provide someone:

1. Proof of Verification shows someone what types of data was verified and when verification was completed.  For an example, click here.
2. Verification Detail actually lists your information such as mailing address, phone number, etc. and when verification was completed.  For an example, click here.

1. The first step is Registering with ShootersXchange.com. (it's fast and free).

2.  Then start the ShootersVerified certification process - If you plan to sell any type of merchandise, you must be ShootersVerified.  The ShootersVerified Certification processing fee is currently $7.95.  We accept Visa or MasterCard only.  Many sellers will require buyers to be ShootersVerified Certified, especially if they accept any type of credit card for purchases.

3.  As soon as you've completed the sign-up for your ShootersVerified Certification, you will be directed to a web page that allows you to proceed with phone number verification.  You will be directed to click a button on the web page when you are ready to receive our phone call.  Our computer-generated call will provide your phone verification code, which you will then enter on the web page.

4.  Within a couple of days of completing the sign-up for ShootersVerified certification, you will receive a postcard in the mail from us with your address verification code.



Login and enter the code in the address verification code box.

5.  We will confirm and record your computer IP address. There is nothing you need to do for this.  We will also require and confirm that your certification name matches the name on the Visa or MasterCard you are using to pay the certification processing fee.

6.  If you are a FFL dealer, we'll need a copy of your FFL (fax or email a scanned copy) and will confirm the license is valid.  Fax to: 678-306-0689 or email to: FFL@ShootersXchange.com.

For sellers, you may begin listing merchandise as soon as you have started the certification process.  If, at any point, you fail or do not complete the ShootersVerified Certification process, we will remove your listings.

Your ShootersVerified Certification lasts for 12 months or until you change your phone number or address.
